L’interrogativo sul come l’essere umano sia in grado di possedere molteplici identità, torna frequente nel lavoro di Vincenzo Todaro: smarrimento e vuoto esistenziale/generazionale che ne conseguono divengono ora causa di inadeguatezza nei confronti di un mondo che non ci rappresenta. Provocatoria è l’omissione parziale dei tratti distintivi, dei quali i soggetti scelti vengono privati; Vincenzo Todaro decide di ritagliarne i volti, cerca nel passato le sue cavie, attraverso l’utilizzo di fotografie antiche, un tempo appartenute a qualcuno, ma adesso di dominio pubblico perché svendute a poco prezzo nei vari mercati rionali.
Questi soggetti senza identità, siano essi bambini, donne, uomini, coppie, militari, possono indurci ad immaginare qualcosa della loro persona e a quando era ancora in vita. Il loro essere probabilmente defunti accresce un senso di indeterminatezza, di smarrimento, di oblio in cui potersi rispecchiare, e perché no, riconoscersi.

The question about how the human is able to own multiple identities, it is common in the work of Vincenzo Todaro: consequent bewilderment and existential/generational emptiness now become due to inadequacy against a world that does not represent us. It is provocative the partial omission of the hallmarks, of which the chosen subjects are deprived; Vincenzo Todaro decides to cut out the faces, he looks for her cavies in the past, through the use of old photographs, once belonged to someone, but now of public domain because they sold off cheap in various local markets.
These people without identity, be they children, women, men, couples, military, they can lead us to imagine something of their person and when she was still alive. Their probably be dead enhances a sense of indeterminacy, of bewilderment, of oblivion in which to reflect oneself, and why not, recognize oneself.
